Why I write

A couple of years ago after a terrible break up, I felt compelled to express my broken heart on social media. Although I did not write details of the relationship, my words often carried a sad undertone to them. No one showed genuine concern about what I was going through. Those whom I lived with or worked with seemed to pretend in showing their care for me.

Lack of empathy from people did not deter me, instead it drove me to vent all my feelings. I dealt with heaviness the best way I knew how, but not with wisdom. God's grace and encouragement amidst distress, birthed a desire in me to write motivational words. People began resonating with my words and reached out to me in response to my posts. In hindsight, it is amazing to see how I became an encourager to those facing different struggles of life.

Although I inspired others through God's Word, I decided to take time off social media. It was pivotal for me to get closer to Christ Jesus on a deeper and personal level. In my time of communion with Him, I got ushered into the wilderness. It was a challenging place yet, necessary, true, and intimate. I had no distractions or familiarity close to me. There were things I had to unlearn and learn. There were things I had to give up and things to be equipped with. Jesus operated on my broken heart, healed it, and enabled me to view the life He gave me in a new Light.

I began making room for God in every aspect of my life. The things I presumed were of value in the past became nothing to me. I learned to be sensitive to the voice of God and let Him coach me to be like His Son, Jesus. I also witnessed (and still do) the power of God transform me inwardly and outwardly in ways I could have never imagined.

Alongside these changes, Christ enlightened me about my unique creativity. Each gift accompanied by a fresh idea inspired me to be creative again. I gained wisdom in knowing that only God could give me the ability to fathom my gifts and produce good fruit for His Kingdom. I am grateful to have Him guide me and continuously inspire me in using every one of my gifts, talents, and skills.

Hence, I am an inspired writer exhibiting Godly inspiration. The kind of inspiration that will bring God the glory and honor.
